The R.O.S.E. (Regaining One's Self-Esteem) Fund was established in 1992 as an umbrella organization chartered to raise funds for, and awareness of women who have had the extraordinary strength and courage to break the cycle of domestic violence. Through the dedication of our staff and volunteers, the leadership of our board, and with the unwavering support of our sponsors we've been transforming and profoundly improving the lives of women survivors ever since.
The R.O.S.E Fund is recognized in the greater Boston community as well as the nation as a leader in the movement to end violence against women. Increasing the self-esteem of the population of women we serve is the thread that runs through all of our efforts and our programs.
In 1996, with the help of committed sponsors, The R.O.S.E Fund established The R.O.S.E Awards Program and began to host our Annual Awards Gala.
The R.O.S.E. Scholarship Program was created in 1998 to provide survivors with the ability to increase self-esteem and self-sufficiency through the pursuit of secondary education and the achievement of college degrees.
In February of 2000, in partnership with The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, The R.O.S.E. Fund established the R.O.S.E. Reconstructive Surgery Program focused on helping women to remove the physical scars of abuse through facial reconstructive surgeries.
- In 2009 we developed The ROSE Fund Research and Report Card Program-a series of assessment tools that allow concerned citizens to conduct a 'Community Impact Analysis'. These scorecards enable citizens to assess the both the impact of DV in their community as well as the ability to benchmark their community against others in terms of how effectively they leverage best-practices around DV awareness, education, intervention and prevention.
